Randy Lee Martin, 67, of 229 James Street, Canastota, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Christina, following a lengthy illness.



He was born on October 10, 1957, in Beaufort, SC, the son of the late Frederick and Carol (Owens) Martin.



Randy spent his early years in Brookfield, attending the Brookfield schools. He has lived in various places in Central New York throughout his life, working on area dairy farms. Randy has lived in Canastota for the last year under the care of his daughter.




He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving overseas with the United States Navy.



Randy was a proud dairy farmer, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching, going to the casino, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.



Surviving are: two daughters, Christina Martin of Canastota, and Angie and Juan Guity of Frankfort; two sons, Brian Lee Martin of Oneida, and Dakota Harland Martin of Fayetteville; two brothers, Ronald Martin of Brookfield, and Terrance and Mary Martin of Rome; one sister, Crystal and Jamie Meyers of Vernon Center; his grandchildren including, Zarin, Kadin, and Kinlin, all of Canastota, and Jaxson, Emmett, and Savannah, all of Fayetteville; one aunt, Kathy and Richie Head of N. Brookfield; one niece, Ella Martin of Maryland; as well as many cousins. Randy was predeceased by one son, Marshall Waffle.



Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. At Randy's request, there will be no funeral service.



In his memory, contributions may be made to Clear Path for Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Road, Chittenango, NY 13037, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
