Roger M. Caron, 65, of Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home, following a brief illness.
He was born on February 19, 1960, in Oneida, the son of Gerard "Gerry" and Patricia (Kazlauskas) Caron.
Roger spent his early years in Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1979. He later attended Mohawk Valley Community College. Roger lived in Lafayette most of his life.
He has worked for Vitale Robinson Concrete in Jamesville for more than thirty years. Roger loved his job, and had an amazing work ethic.
Roger was of the Catholic faith.
He enjoyed cars, fishing, music, watching television, his dogs and cat, working, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are: his daughter, Mackenzie Caron and Lauren Addison; his mother, Patricia Caron; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Sharon) Caron, Mark (Rachel) Caron, and Noel (Jennifer) Caron; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mary (Kim) Kapfer, Ann (John) Roden, Elizabeth Primo, and Yvonne (Michael) Leuze; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Roger was predeceased by his father, Gerry Caron; a niece, Nicole Kapfer; and Mackenzie's mother, Pamela Johnson.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. James Buttner will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
In his memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
