Obituary of Michele J. Shepard

Michele J. “Maude” Shepard, 70, of Canastota, passed away, unexpectedly, on Thursday, April 1, 2025, at her home. She was born on March 28, 1955, in Syracuse, NY. She was the daughter of the late John and Joanna (DeWallace) Shepard. Michele was raised and educated in Canastota and attended local school. She held a position as a cook and server at Three Pines Restaurant in Canastota for over twenty years until her retirement. Michele had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for scratch off Lottery tickets and enjoyed the excitement of winning. Michele was always a great support to her family and friends. Surviving are two daughters, Melissa Shepard of Syracuse, and Joanna Shepard and her companion, Quintell Coleman; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Tracee Pendell all of Canastota; a sister, Mary Jo Williams of Oneida; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Sandy Shepard of Suffolk, VA, Michael and Ethel Shepard of Cedarville, NJ, and Stephen and Tammy Shepard of Canastota. She was also survived by sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica Shepard and Jeremy Domena; a nephew, Van Williams; and a son-in-law, Dugga Williams. Calling hours will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 13, 2025, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
