Robert M. “Bobby” Damore, 56, formerly of Canastota, NY and currently a resident of Cohoes, NY passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born on March 24, 1969, in Oneida, the son of the late Dario A., Sr. and Judith A. (Capparelli) Damore.
Bobby was raised and educated in Canastota graduating in 1985. He continued his education at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC). Mr. Damore at one time worked for All Seasons Vending Company in Canastota, and Prestige Vending Company in Clifton Park. He most recently held a position with UPS in Latham, NY as a professional driver.
Bobby was an avid sports enthusiast, the softball team that he played on “The Electric Press”, was recently recognized at the Syracuse Hall of Fame for their excellence. He especially loved Syracuse and New York teams. He enjoyed golfing and loved to listen to music. Bobby was a hard-working man; he loved his home and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his long-time companion, Amanda Watson of Cohoes and her children, Samantha and Chad Gibson of NC, and Blake Woods of Cohoes; a son, Jordan T. Damore and Jordan’s mother, Lisa Thorne both of Glenville, NY; a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and James Hertel of Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Terri Damore of FL; a sister-in-law, Kimberly Damore of Canastota; and his aunts and uncles, Veronica Capparelli of Canastota, and Larry and Katherine DeAngelo of Utica. He is also survived by a niece, Nina Damore, and two nephews, Garrett and Tre Damore, several cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Dario A. Damore, Jr.
Calling hours will be held at St. Agatha’s Church 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota, NY on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Mr. Damore’s Funeral Mass will follow calling hours at St. Agatha’s Church at 12:00 pm. Bobby will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Agatha’s Cemetery in Canastota following his Funeral Mass.
Arrangements are under the care of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
