Anne M. Martin, 80, of Wampsville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
She was born on October 11, 1944, in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Windheim) McCullough.
Anne was raised and educated in Canastota and graduated from Canastota High School in 1962. She continued her education at New York State Agricultural and Technical Institute at Morrisville, graduating in 1964 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.
On December 26, 1975, she married Stanley J. Martin in Wampsville. The couple shared in a union blessed with over forty-nine years of marriage.
At one time Mrs. Martin held a position with Oneida Valley National Bank in Canastota; she retired from Oneida Ltd. in Sherrill in 1976 after several years of loyal service.
Anne loved art, enjoyed oil painting, taking care of her cats, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her beloved husband; Stanley; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Katherine Martin of Philadelphia; a daughter, Kathleen Weller of Buffalo; grandchildren, Kourtney Shimp, Kenneth Brennan III (Amran Primrose), Joseph Martin (Andrea Stanek), and Thomas Martin; a great granddaughter, Jordyn Shimp; and a brother, Edward “John” McCullough of Canastota. She is also survived by a nephew, and several cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, James McCullough, and Thomas McCullough.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at St. Agatha’s Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher Ballard will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Yorkville. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota, NY.
