Betty L. Mroczek, 82, of 9000 Hazel Avenue, Canastota, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Oneida Healthcare, following a brief illness.
She was born on December 31, 1942, in Norwich, the daughter of the late Elmer and Florence (Everetts) Baker.
Betty spent her early years in S. Otselic, attending S. Otselic High School. She later lived in Earlville, Canastota, and Vernon, living in the Canastota area most of her life.
She worked for CORE FCU in N. Syracuse for fifteen years, retiring in 2005, and had previously worked for Oneida Limited in Sherrill for ten years.
Betty enjoyed reading, playing cards, jig saw puzzles, cake decorating, fairy gardens, dancing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She married Andrew B. Mroczek on September 13, 1958, in Norwich. Andy passed away on December 27, 1998.
Surviving are: one daughter, Terry and Jack Christmas of Camden; two sons, Michael and Connie Mroczek of Canastota, and Brian and Joanne Mroczek of Canastota; one sister, Barbara Hinkley of Oneonta; five grandchildren, Jennifer Armlin and Deane Albaugh, Kristy Kohlbrenner, Casandra and Bobby Betsinger, Allyssa and Matthew Iorio, and Emily Mroczek and Emmit Felix; five great grandchildren, Chelsea Armlin, Andrew Kohlbrenner, Raina Kohlbrenner, Brody Betsinger, and Mickaela Betsinger; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty was predeceased by one brother, Gregory Baker.
At Betty's request there will be no calling hours or funeral. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
