EATON . . .

Michael H. Seitz, 67, of Eaton, and a former Canastota resident, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 7, 2025, at his home.

He was born on January 1, 1958, in Canastota, the son of the late Robert M. Sr., and Helen (Elwood) Seitz.

Mike spent his early years in Stockbridge, Morrisville and Canastota, attending school there. He has lived in the Canastota area most of his life.

He worked on various farms in the area for many years.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, hunting and fishing.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are: four brothers and a sister-in-law, Thomas A. Seitz of Florida, Jeffrey and Margaret Seitz of Canastota, Robert Seitz, Jr. of Eaton, and Douglas A. Seitz; five sisters, Lou Ann Rodriguez of Oneida, Christine Seitz of Canastota, Roberta Seitz of Syracuse, Jodi Poppleton and Lee Sharlette of Canastota, and Tammy Seitz of Virginia; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was predeceased by two brothers, Steven Seitz, and Daniel E. Seitz.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. There will be no funeral service. Burial will be in St. Agatha’s Cemetery, Canastota.
