Richard E. Seeber, 61, of Clay, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loved ones following a courageous battle with prostate cancer.



He was born on December 24, 1963, in Canastota, the son of the late Henry and Janet (Mason) Seeber.



Richard spent his early years in Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1983. He later lived in Oneida for many years, and has lived in Clay for the last four years.



He worked as a truck driver for Veritiv in Syracuse for thirty years, retiring in 2021.



Richard enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles, movies, and spending time with his family.



He is married to Stephanie M. Midgley. They have spent every second of the last twenty-three years together.



Surviving besides his wife, Stephanie, are: three sons, Brandon Seeber of Sherrill, Brett Seeber and Kaity McKenney of Verona, and Christian Midgley and Jordan Ward of Summerville, SC; one daughter, Amber Midgley and Arnav Rana of Syracuse; one grandson, Ryker Seeber of Durhamville; one sister, Shirley and Mark Stevens of Canastota; one nephew, Matthew Stevens of Canastota.



Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. William M. Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.



In his memory, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Road, Rome, NY 13440.
