Utica, NY – Michael S. Loveless, 47, of Utica and formerly of Rome and Canastota, NY passed away unexpectedly, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at his home.

He was born on September 16, 1977, in Oneida, NY, the son of the late James C. and Irene M. (Sgroi) Loveless.

Michael was raised and educated in Canastota, NY, where he attended Canastota High School. At one time he was the owner and operator of Mike’s Mechanicals in Oneida, NY.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and many special friends. He was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. Mike was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing; he was a “Jack of all trades” and was very talented with his hands.

He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Laurie and William Armstrong of Oneida, and Jennifer and Jack Whitford of Clay; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, James C. Loveless and his fiancée, Julie both of Wampsville, and Jonathan and Jennifer Loveless of Fulton. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday evening, September 5, 2025, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota from 4-6 p.m. Mr. Loveless’s funeral service will follow calling hours at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday evening.
