Lucetta J. Barber, 83, of 1220 Fyler Road, Kirkville, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on December 18, 1941, in Peterboro, the daughter of the late Jack and Harriett (Whaley) Warner.
Lucetta lived in Whitelaw most of her life, attending the Whitelaw School and Canastota High School. She later attended Cazenovia College. Lucetta has lived in Kirkville for the last 35 years.
She loved to teach, giving guitar and piano lessons from her home for many years. Lucetta also loved to crochet, and give as gifts to her students, oil painting, and gospel music. She sang at local churches, and wrote many country gospel songs, and wrote a book about her life "This is my Voice".
Lucetta was very Godly, and was a loving, caring, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the Fyler Community Church.
Lucetta married Earl C. Bennett on March 11, 1961, in Canastota. Earl passed away on May 18, 1984. She later married Coe E. Barber on July 9, 1988, at their home in Kirkville. Coe passed away on December 2, 2010.
Surviving are: one son, Earl C. "Butch" Bennett, Jr. of Eureka, MT; one daughter, Dawn and Joseph A. Stagnitti of Kirkville; two brothers, John Warner of Whitelaw, and Robert Bellino, Sr. of Whitelaw; one sister, Judy and John Pinard of Whitelaw; two grandchildren, Joseph A. II, and Amber Stagnitti, and Holly and Lewis Hallman; four great grandsons; Landyn and Layton Hallman, and Austin and Blake Stagnitti; as well several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lucetta was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Robert Bellino; five brothers, George, Edward, Lawrence, Roger, and James Warner; and three sisters, Joyce Warner, Kathryn Humennyji, and Harriet Bellino.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. William M. Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
