CHITTENANGO . . .

Frances A. McCauley, 90 , of 304 Seneca Street, Chittenango, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Valley Hospice, Steubenville, OH, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on April 30, 1935, in Sayville, Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late John and Roseanne (Bermingham) Bracken.

Frances spent her early years in Long Island, graduating from St. Joseph's College in Long Island. Frances lived in the Albany area most of her life, before moving to Chittenango in 2011. She spent her last months in Ohio with her son, Andrew, and his family.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Verona.

Frances enjoyed quilting, gardening, and spending time with her family.

She married Robert G. McCauley on May 19, 1962, in Sayville, Long Island. Robert passed away on October 17, 2017.

Surviving are: one son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Maureen McCauley of Richmond, OH; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne-Mary and Mark Judge of Chittenango; and ten grandchildren, Andrew, Ann, Peter, and John McCauley, Margaret, Anna, Rose, Joseph, Marie, and Suzanne Judge. Frances was predeceased by her two sisters, Kathleen Bracken, and Marion Bracken; and a brother-in-law, Andrew J. McCauley.

Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 5652 Main Street, Verona. The Rev. Edmund A. Castronovo, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
