VERONA . . .
Kathryn Agnes "Katie" DuBrey, 77, of 5000 Old Oneida Road, Verona, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility, following a brief illness.
She was born on October 3, 1948, in Chittenango, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Agnes (Wallace) DeVaul.
Katie spent her early years in Lakeport, graduating from Chittenango High School. She has lived in Verona most of her life.
She worked at the former Stanton Paper Box Company in Oneida, retiring after working there for more than 25 years.
Katie enjoyed camping, puzzles, watching SU basketball, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She married Jerry N. DuBrey on July 3, 1976, in Lakeport.
Surviving besides her husband of forty-nine years, Jerry, are: one daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Rick Rinaldo of Earlville; one brother, Wayne DeVaul of Canastota; one sister, Evelyn Christman of Wampsville; two grandchildren, Benjamin Rinaldo and his fiancé, Sara Kolipinski, of Tonawanda, and Anna and Edward Geier of Sherburne; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Katie was predeceased by two brothers, Robert DeVaul, and Kenneth "Sonny" DeVaul, Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Cromp, and Rosemary Banack.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastor Donna Chapman of the Whitelaw Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Verona Cemetery, Durhamville. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
