MUNNSVILLE . . .

Myron E. Smith, 87, of 5825 Smith Road, Munnsville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 1, 2026, while wintering in Daytona Beach Shores, FL.

He was born on May 4, 1938, in Munnsville, the son of the late Gerald and Emma (Snyder) Smith.

Myron lived in Munnsville all of his life, graduating from Stockbridge Valley High School in 1957. For many years he had spent winters in Florida.

He worked on the family farm in Munnsville when he was younger, and later was the owner/operator of the farm for more than sixty years. Myron also worked for Otis Marshall Farms in Munnsville for many years, and owned and operated Smith's Farm Equipment in Munnsville from 1979-1994. He did custom combining and sold corn seed to area farms for many years.

Myron was an avid bowler in his younger years, bowling in the Recreation Lanes Men's League in Oneida, and was a former member of the Owls Club in Oneida.

He married Patricia A. Lints on October 11, 1958, in Oneida, with whom he shared more than sixty-seven years of marriage.

Surviving besides his wife, Pat, are: two sons, Andrew and Cindy Smith, and Stephen Smith, all of Munnsville; three grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Bradley Smith, and Nicholas Smith; three great granddaughters, Brooklynn Smith, Brayleigh Smith, and Ava Jane Smith; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Myron was predeceased by a brother, Louis G. Smith, who died June 1, 1965.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home following the calling hours. The Rev. Neil D. Coe will officiate. Spring burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Munnsville.
