CANASTOTA . . .

Diedra Lin (Rieck) Otts, 63, of 8821 Oneida Valley Road, Canastota, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle with breast cancer.

She was born on July 23, 1962, in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Ernest and Shirley (Stern) Rieck.

Diedra lived in E. Syracuse most of her life, graduating from East Syracuse Minoa High School in 1980. She has lived in Canastota for the last twenty years.

She was a beautiful loving mom, grandmother, sister, and wife. Diedra loved spending time with her family and looking for dolphins on sunny beaches whenever she could.

Diedra married Jon E. Otts, Jr., on May 20, 2006, in Canastota.

Surviving besides her husband, Jon, are: two daughters, Alicia (Steve Jr.) Wilbur of Bridgeport, and Nakita (Brandon) Brooks of Hamlin; step-son, Matthew (Kim) Otts of Canastota; step-daughter, Breauna Otts of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Ava and Lexi Wilbur, Connor Ketcham, and Liza Otts; three sisters, Wanda Corbett of E. Syracuse, Wendy Mulcahy of Liverpool, and Denise (Steven) Devendorf of Chittenango; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor of St. Agatha's Church, will officiate. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.

In her memory, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088, with envelopes available at the church.
