CANASTOTA . . .

Eleanor C. Bajohr, 91, of Munnsville, and Canastota, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 25, 1934, in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Conrad and Maria (Block) Verheyen.

Eleanor spent her early years in the Bronx, graduating from Evander Childs High School, and later lived in New Jersey, before moving to Canastota and Munnsville in 1979.

She was operations manager for Bankers Trucking Company in Manhattan, before moving to Canastota where she ran Eleanor's Needle Art Shop from 1982 to 2021.

Eleanor enjoyed reading, needle work, and gardening.

She was a friend of the Canastota Public Library.

Eleanor married Karl H. Bajohr on December 23, 1967, in Ft. Lee, NJ. Karl passed away on October 12, 2023.

She is survived by three nieces.

At Eleanor's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
