CANASTOTA . . .



Esther V. Lucarelli, 94, of Canastota, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, following a brief illness.



She was born on November 10, 1931, in Canastota, the daughter of the late Vito, Sr. and Catherine (Puglia) LoMonaco.



Esther has lived in Canastota most of her life, graduating from Canastota High School in 1949, and CCBI in Syracuse. She also lived in Malibu, California for ten years.



She worked for Ralph Meyer & Associates in Oneida, Tornatore & Company, PC in Syracuse, and had previously worked at the former Henney Motors and Diemolding Corporation in Canastota.



Esther was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota, and was a born-again Christian.



She enjoyed reading the Bible, golfing, hiking, and spending time with her family.



Esther was married to John F. Lucarelli for many years. John passed away on September 18, 2008.



Rest in peace, beautiful Esther – loving mother, dear friend, and devoted animal lover. Though it saddens us to say goodbye, your journey here on earth was truly remarkable. You taught your children to love God and Jesus, and you gave so selflessly with all your heart. You will be deeply missed, we find comfort knowing you are with the Lord, surrounded by love, peace, and those who have gone before you. You will forever remain in our hearts, held with love, respect, and honor. Fly with the angels, dear mother.



Surviving are: one son, Luke Lucarelli of Canastota; two daughters, Lori and Ken McKinstry of Baldwinsville, and Tina Lucarelli of Thousand Oaks, CA; two brothers, Paul LoMonaco of Canastota, and Matthew and Betty LoMonaco of Canastota; three sisters, Lucille "Teal" LoMonaco of Liverpool, Katherine LoMonaco of Canastota, and Marie Smart of Victor; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Esther was predeceased by five brothers, Vincent, Frank, Vito, Jr., John, and Louis LoMonaco; and two sisters, Margaret Maccarone, and Josephine Juravich.



Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
