Renee E. Argentine Obituary

Renee E. Argentine, 68, of 6752 Nelson Road, Canastota, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, at her home, following a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her side.


She was born on October 16, 1957, in Rome, NY the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Baulig) Prevo.


Renee spent her early years in Rome, graduating from Rome Catholic High School in 1975, and SUNY Cortland in 1979, later earning her Master’s Degree in Education. She has lived in Canastota since 1980.


On June 28th, 1980 Renee married Ronald J. Argentine in Canastota.


Renee dedicated her career to education, teaching first at VVS before joining the faculty at Canastota Central School. Her teaching career spanned thirty-four years between the two districts, retiring in 2013 due to her health.


Renee was a member of St. Agatha’s Church in Canastota, the New York State Teachers Association, and the Canastota Running Club.


Outside of her professional life, Renee enjoyed sewing, skiing, and baking. Above all, and most importantly to her, she cherished her family. She was the heart of her home, finding her greatest joy in family gatherings and supporting her children in all their endeavors. She also especially enjoyed family vacations and every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.


Surviving besides her husband, Ron, are: three sons, Bradley and Meredith Argentine of Clermont, FL, Eric and Karina Argentine of Chittenango, and Robert Argentine of Cazenovia; three grandchildren, Colin Argentine, Madison Argentine, and Nolan Argentine; one brother, David and Linda Prevo of Centerville, OH; an aunt, Kay Balog; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Agatha’s Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. In her memory, contributions may be made to either Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413 or The Greater Lenox Ambulance Service (GLAS), P. O. Box 382, Canastota, NY 13032 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
