Michael A. Harp Obituary
CANASTOTA . . .
Michael A. Harp, 57, of Harp Road, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home.
He was born on January 24, 1969, in Oneida, the son of the late Frederick and Kathryn (Curran) Harp.
Mike has lived in the Canastota area all of his life, graduating from Chittenango High School in 1988.
He grew up working on the family farm on Harp Road, which he has owned and operated for many years.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, coon hunting, fishing, four wheeling and hiking on the property, farming, and spending time with his family. He loved his grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them grow up. Mike famously hated the cold, but loved sledding with family and friends on the farm. He aspired to travel, and had a trip to Colorado and Arizona planned for this summer. Mike also enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends.
Surviving are: one daughter, Katy Harp and Tyler Abel of Durhamville; two grandchildren, Colton Hoffman, and Karlie Abel; Katy's mother, Joan of Canastota; one brother, Paul Harp of Harpersville, NY; one nephew, Jonathan Harp; as well as cousins; and close family friends, Poncho and Nicole Tracy, and their daughter, Evelyn.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at a place, date, and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
