FAYETTEVILLE . . .
Dale C. Wittwer, Sr., 73, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
He was born on June 21, 1952, in Syracuse, the son of the late Clinton and Laura (Comstock) Wittwer.
Dale spent his early years in Fayetteville/Mycenae, graduating from Fayetteville-Manlius High School in 1970. He also lived in Chittenango and Syracuse.
He worked for Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse for more than twenty years, retiring in 1994.
Dale enjoyed fishing, repairing automobiles, drawing blueprints, bowling, and spending time with his family. For the last thirty years he lived as he saw fit.
His ex-wife, Marcia C. Armitage, passed away on February 12, 2019.
Surviving are: two sons, Dale Wittwer, II and Danielle De Forge of Canastota, and Luke Wittwer and Brandy Jeffris of Canastota; one daughter, Tina and Geoff Bouffard of Canastota; two brothers, twin brother, Donald and Kim Wittwer of Minoa, and Dean and Frances Wittwer of Canastota; three sisters, Cynthia and Charles Shoemaker of Manlius, Deborah and Daniel Delaney of Fayetteville, and Diane and Marty King of Fayetteville; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Dewitt.
