CANASTOTA . . .



Charles M. Bennett, 93, of Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at his home.



He was born on April 28, 1933, in Canastota, the son of the late Martin and Elizabeth (Cox) Bennett.



Charles was a life-long resident of Canastota, and attended the Canastota schools.



He worked at Queensboro Farm Products in Canastota for 43 years, retiring in 1995.



Charles enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, cooking, square dancing, and spending time with his family



He married Ethel E. Wright on August 30, 1952, in Canastota. Ethel passed away on May 25, 1999.



Surviving are: two daughters, Cathy Bennett Mather of Cheektowaga, and Deborah Bennett Cassese and James Cassese of Rome; five grandchildren, Kara Mather, Karli Mather, Cory Gustin, Nicole Allen, and Devon Cassese; one great grandson, Jacob Allen; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was predeceased by one sister, Alice Boswell.



At Charles' request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
