CANASTOTA . . . Donald F. Ross, 65, of Ray Road, Canastota, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 1, 2024, following an apparent heart attack while at work. He was born on January 18, 1959, in Ogdensburg, NY, the son of the late Franklin and Mary (Waterman) Ross. Don lived in Fabius most of his life, graduating from Fabius Pompey High School in 1977. He has lived in the Canastota area for the last thirty years. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served for four years. He has worked for ICM Controls in Syracuse for the last fifteen years, and previously worked at Gray Syracuse in Chittenango, and Diemolding Corporation in Wampsville. Don loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR Racing, and football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He married Rhonda L. Milks on March 11, 1978, in Pompey. Surviving are: his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Rebecca Ross of Canastota; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul and Ann Ross of Fabius, and Albert LaFrance of Sylvan Beach; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cheryl and Thomas Leech of South Carolina, Evelyn and John Tilden of Fabius, and Brenda LaFrance of Fabius; two grandchildren, Savannah Ross and Sierra Ross; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don was predeceased by a brother, Gary Ross. A Celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Canastota VFW Memorial Post #600, 3835 Canal Road, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc. 201 James Street, Canastota, NY 13032. In his memory, contributions may be made to Ducks Unlimited, Inc., One Waterfowl Way, Memphis, TN 38120.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Canastota VFW Memorial Post #600, 3835 Canal Road, Canastota.
