Floyd Wilson Hoag, III, 65, of 6726 Jackson Hill Road, Chittenango, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his home, following a brief illness.



He was born on June 1, 1952, in DeRuyter, the son of Floyd W. Hoag, II, and Elizabeth (Breed) Thurston.



Floyd has lived in the Madison County area all of his life.



He owned and operated F.W. Hoag Construction Co. in Chittenango most of his life, later working for Allen-Patrick Construction Co. in Chittenango.




Floyd loved hunting, fishing, his 68 Chevy Camero SS, and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.




He married Diana Simonson Moyer on July 13, 2002, in Chittenango.



Surviving besides his wife, Diana, are: two daughters and a son-in-law, Fernette R. Hoag of Jacksonville, FL, and Lezlie and Ricky Hansen of Minoa; two grandsons, Izaiah Granville, and Kolton Moyer; four brothers, Dale Hoag of Munnsville, Larry Hoag of Eaton, Raymond Hoag of Peterboro, and Brett Thurston of Peterboro; three sisters, Patricia Hoag of Utica, Lynn Lewis of Arkansas, and Elizabeth Marks of Oneida; two special friends, Darek LaBarre, and Michael McQuade; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. The Rev. William M. Wilcox, Pastor of the Fyler Community Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Chittenango. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In his memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
