I was so very sad to find this obituary. I worked with Mike for 6 years while he was Griffiss AFB. We assisted he and his team with clean-up efforts on several parcels of land. He was a caring and kind human being. Condolences to his family. A great loss.

I was very sad to hear of the passing of Mike. I had meet Mike many years ago working on the cleanup of the former Griffiss AFB. We initial sat on opposite sides of the table. He for the Air Force and I for the EPA. However, over the years, a mutual trust, respect and friendship developed between us. During the many meetings and projects, Mike had the ability to calm everyone at the table enabling each one to reach common ground and achieve one's goal.
I am glad to have worked with him over the many years and offer my deepest condolences to JoAnn and the family.
Sincerely
Doug Pocze

This is perhaps the most amazing and beautiful tribute I've ever read! What an amazing person and what a blessing his presence is in all who knew and loved Mike.
A life well-lived. Your work here is complete and you'll be missed and remembered with such unending love.
Godspeed Mike. Our prayers to you and all of your friends and family.

Met mike and his family this past summer at his son's graduation party. What a kind wonderful man. His soft spoken voice had a way of calming you in conversation and his laughter lifted your hearts spirit. I am truly blessed to have crossed paths with Mike, he will be greatly missed. God Bless. ~ Jay

I worked with Mike for 10 years after the base was “realigned”. I tended to be a bit hot headed and Mike being Mike - always calm always the perfect gentleman - kept me in line. We were on a conference call when he knew I was going to say something I shouldn’t and he lurched from his chair and stabbed the mute button before I could speak! We both burst out laughing. Mike has the sweetest personality and was a big loveable guy. His big smile and warm heart will be missed. He left the world a better place. Thank you Mike. Love you big guy. Anna
