Obituary of Elizabeth J. Mueller

CANASTOTA . . . Elizabeth J. "Betty" Mueller, age 92, of Canastota and recently of the Masonic Care Community, Utica, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. She was born in Syracuse, N.Y. on August 8, 1927, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Black) Crowell. Betty married William J. "Bill" Mueller on January 25, 1947. Bill passed away on March 8, 2015. Betty was the iconic wife and mother, devoting her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nothing brought a smile to Betty's face faster than seeing a child enter the room. Betty was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota. She is survived by her five children and spouses: Linda Glow of Syracuse, NY, Nancy and Nicholas Curri of Frankfort, NY, Cynthia and Douglas Holdridge of Canastota, NY, Debra and Richard Gentsch of Huntersville, North Carolina, and William and Diane Mueller of West Henrietta, NY; her grandchildren, Melissa (Ron) Hysick, Douglas (Denise) Holdridge, Michael Glow, Richard (Marie) Curri, Daniel (Ashley) Curri, Joseph (Alyssa) Curri, Katherine Mueller, Meghan Mueller, and Timothy Gentsch; her great-grandchildren, Madison and Parker Hysick, Larissa Holdridge, and Vincent, Trevor, Cameron, Logan, Lana, Kara, and Joseph Curri; as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her grandson, Nathan Holdridge; son-in-law, James Glow, and her brother, H. William Crowell. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota, where a funeral mass will be held. The Rev. Stephen P. Wirkes, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
