SYRACUSE . . . Roger Robie Hughes, 67, of 718 South Crouse Avenue, Syracuse, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018, at his home, following a brief illness. He was born on November 5, 1950, in Espanola, New Mexico, the son of Doramae (Robie) and Duane F. Hughes. Roger spent his early years in Perryville, graduating from Cazenovia Central School in 1969. He later graduated from Morrisville College with an Associate's Degree in the Arts, and Powelson Business Institute in Syracuse. He has lived in Syracuse since 1978. He worked for Onondaga Case Management in Syracuse for 10 years. Roger was a member of the Perryville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed current affairs, and was an Activist. Surviving are: three sisters and a brother, Wandalee Hughes of Syracuse, Darlene and Eric Schram of Weedsport, Donald and Janelle Hughes of Washington State, and Barbara Tabaie of Syracuse; two nieces; one nephew; one great nephew; and several cousins. At Rogers's request there will be no calling hours or service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
