CANASTOTA . . . Cynthia A. Hurd, 67, formerly of Canastota, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at the Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rome, NY. She was born on March 17, 1953, in Canastota, the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (DeLaRoche) Hurd. Cindy spent her early years in Canastota, and was a 1971 graduate of Canastota High School. She, also, graduated from SUNY Brockport in 1976, with a Bachelor's Degree in Art. Cindy later lived in Oneida, Lake Placid, and Syracuse, and has been a resident of Betsy Ross. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and also enjoyed art and music. Surviving are: one brother, Douglas Hurd of Warwick, NY; one nephew, Brian Hurd and his wife, Karen, of Warwick; two great nephews, Logan and Justin Hurd, and a great niece, Addison Hurd. Cindy was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hurd. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Lenox Rural Cemetery, 7196 Nelson Road, Canastota. The Rev. William M. Wilcox will officiate. Face coverings and social distancing are required. At Cindy's request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Activities Department, 1 Elsie Street, Rome, NY 13440.
