MUNNSVILLE . . . Amber F. Thurston, 70, of 5497 Stockbridge Falls Road, Munnsville, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility, following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 2, 1950, in Oneida, the daughter of the late Harry L. and Evelyn (Shaver) Thurston. Amber spent her early years in the Munnsville area, graduating from Morrisville-Eaton High School. She later lived in Oneida and Kirkville, returning to Munnsville. She worked at Grey-Syracuse in Chittenango, and had also worked at Gold Pack and Hubbard Industries in Oneida. Amber enjoyed camping, watching television reading, crossword puzzles, her cat "Dude" who predeceased her, and spending time with her family. Surviving are: one sister, Melody Thurston of Munnsville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harry J. "Buck" Thurston of Munnsville, and Donald and Ellen Thurston of Spotsylvania, VA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Amber was predeceased by her fiancé, Robert W. Brantis, Jr., who died in 1990. At Amber's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held in the Spring at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Tom Davies, pastor of the Munnsville Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Merrillsville. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032.
