CANASTOTA . . . Patricia "Pat" Marie (Albrecht) Ferranti, 84, of 26 East Grago Blvd., Canastota, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at her home, with her loving family by her side, after a brief illness. She was born on March 25, 1936, in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late George and Helen (Bergens) Albrecht. Pat spent her early years in Gloversville, and was a 1954 graduate of Gloversville High School. She later graduated from Albany Business College in 1956, with a Business Degree. Pat moved to Canastota in 1968, and married John P. "Oscar" Ferranti, Sr. on March 1, 1968, at her parents' home in Gloversville, NY. John passed away on April 23, 2008. She was also predeceased by her special friend, Joe Leotta in 2020. She was employed by GE in her early years, and later retired from Carrier Corporation in Syracuse after working there for 27 years. Faith was an important part of Pat's life. She was a long-time communicant of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota, and was a member of the church choir. Pat had many leisure activities that she enjoyed. She bowled and golfed for many years. Pat was a dedicated lover of BINGO. She played cards weekly with her wonderful friends. Pat was a huge cat lover, and had two cats that were her babies, Oscar and Pepper. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed greatly. Surviving are: three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa "Terri" and Jay Fogus, and Linda and Chris Findlay, all of Oneida, and Lisa and John Gray of San Diego, CA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Trisha Meehan of Canastota, and John Ferranti, Jr. and Julia Brown of Manlius; one sister-in-law, Marcia Ferranti of Syracuse. Pat was blessed with eleven grandchildren, Danielle and Evan Robinson, Rachelle Keator, Jaimee and Megan Eschmann-Fogus, Tyler Fogus, Stephen and Nicolle Findlay, Brett and Heidi Findlay, Gunnar Gray, Stephanie Meehan, Sean and Heather Meehan, Collin Meehan and Austin Sanders. She was also blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren, Chase, Weston, Bennett, Ethan, Carsen, Willow, Beckett, Rhylee, Orion, Emily, Alice, Caleb, George, and Conner; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat was predeceased by a great grandson, Leo Eschmann-Fogus. Pat's family would like to thank her special Hospice staff, especially Paula and Georgia. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher Ballard will officiate. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, or to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
