ONEIDA . . . Kathleen A, Snyder, 84, of Baldwinsville, and formerly of Oneida, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Syracuse Home, Baldwinsville, following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 11, 1933, in Syracuse, the daughter of the late George and Mary Agnes (Dean) O'Connor. Kathy spent her early years in Syracuse, graduating from Saint Vincent DePaul School in 1951. She later lived in Oneida for many years, moving to Baldwinsville three years ago. She worked for the New York State Thruway in Syracuse for 26 years, retiring in 1994. Kathy was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She married Floyd E. Snyder, Jr., on November 28, 1992, in Camillus. Surviving besides her husband, Floyd, are: one son, William A. Shumway of Fairfield, OH; one sister, Patricia Macholl of Baldwinsville; one granddaughter and her husband, Ashley and Sean McCarthy of Cincinnati, OH; two great grandchildren, Violet and Lincoln McCarthy; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kathy was predeceased by a daughter, Debra Shumway; and two brothers, George and Michael O'Connor. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery. At Kathy's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
