ENDICOTT . . . Donald L. LaBarre, 65, of Endicott and a former Canastota resident, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 14, 1956, in Plattsburgh, the son of Donald W. "Sonny" and Muriel (Peryer) LaBarre. Don spent his early years in Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1975. He later graduated from SUNY Canton in 1978, and has lived in the Binghamton area since 1993. He worked as a computer programmer most of his life, most recently working in the Binghamton area for Bravo Solution. He enjoyed bird watching, driving his Mustangs, watching his kids and grandkids sporting events, and spending time with his family. Don first married Sue (Hood) LaBarre, who was the mother of four of his children. He later married Lucia (Pekera) LaBarre, who was his caregiver and the mother of two of his children. Surviving are his six children: James LaBarre of Canastota, Jennie Tyler and Darrack Bush of Cazenovia, Jeffrey LaBarre and Elyse Abel of Cazenovia, Jacob LaBarre and Taylor Coleman of Liverpool, Christian LaBarre of Endicott, and Tai LaBarre of Endicott; his mother, Muriel Alesci of Canastota; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jay and Ann Marie LaBarre of Cazenovia, and Lance LaBarre of Oneida; eight grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Abigail, Noah, Ryan, Trevor, Jaiden, and Ember Lee; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Don was predeceased by his father, Donald W. LaBarre; and his step-father, Francis J. "Frank" Alesci. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Chrisopher Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. In his memory, contributions may be made to Family Life, PO Box 506, Bath, NY 14810, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
