Obituary of John G. Pafka

CLOCKVILLE . . . John G. Pafka, Jr., 87, of 4219 Timmerman Road, Canastota (Clockville), passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 28, 1931, in the Town of Lincoln, a son of the late John, Sr. and Anna (Seitz) Pafka. John has lived the Clockville area all of his life, graduating from Canastota High School in 1949. He has been a dairy farmer all of his life, owning and operating the family farm for many years. John respected his farm animals and pets, treating them kindly and in a gentle way. Above all, he was a gentle man. He, also, excelled in the crafting of wood. His workshop was his second home. John enjoyed the several craft shows he attended over the years, and completed many projects for his business "Woodcrafts". John enjoyed boating and fishing when he was younger, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are: one brother, Donald A. Pafka of Canastota; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and James Lloyd of Gainesville, FL; nieces and nephews, Donald Pafka, Heather Steinle, Robert Lloyd, and Kyle Durst; great nieces and nephews, Summer Lloyd, Brooke Lloyd, Ivy Lloyd, Levy Durst, Noelle Durst, and Rose Upham. John was predeceased by a nephew, William Pafka. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Deacon Adolph Uryniak of St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, will officiate. Entombment will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, prior to the service, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In his memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc.
