Obituary of Colleen A. Meeks

CANASTOTA . . . Colleen A. Meeks, 69, of 9080 Lewis Point Road, Canastota, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on June 21, 1953, in Oneida, NY the daughter of the late Phillip Truman and Pola Ciccarelli. Colleen graduated from Oneida High School in 1971. At one time she held a position with the Magnavox Company in Manlius and more recently she worked for the Madison County Snack Program in Canastota. She enjoyed going to the races, campfires, gambling, and spending time with her family; her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Colleen married David W. Meeks, Sr. in 2013 but they have been together since August of 1986. Surviving besides her husband, David; is a daughter, Christina Buyea and her favorite son-in-law Ron of Hamilton NY; a son, David Meeks Jr. and Rhode Wing of Cateo NY; a brother, Rob Truman of Oneida NY; sister, Mary and Roy Leggett of Canastota NY; five grandchildren, Rodney Buyea and Alice Ireland, Kari Buyea and Brandan Lawrence, Logan Smith, Corrine Smith and Stephan Meeks, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Colleen was predeceased by a son, Paulie Hatch and a daughter, Tiffany Meeks. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Donna Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Whitelaw Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In her memory, contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
