MORRISVILLE . . .

Danyen (Daniel) M. Cortes, 29, of Morrisville, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

He was born on June 22, 1989, in Oneida, NY, the son of Wilson Cortes, Sr. and Sharon R. Schmidtka.

Daniel worked for D.L. Property Restoration in Canastota.

Surviving are: his parents Wilson Cortes, Sr. and Sharon R. Schmidtka of Morrisville; four daughters, Liliann, Bailey, Emilia, and Fabrinna Cortes; a stepson, Ayden Janes; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Jennifer Thomson of Canastota, Chastity and Crystal Schmidtka both of Morrisville, Jeri and Dustin McDonough of Canastota and Jessica Thomson of Rome; one brother and sister-in-law, Wilson and Caroline Cortes, Jr. of Chittenango; also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, afternoon, August 4, 2018, from 2 - 4 p.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A brief service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
