CANASTOTA . . . Carol S. Cobb, 89, of Canastota, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at her home with her family at her side. Born in Pulaski, NY, on May 31, 1933, to the late Horace Raymond and Florence Clara (Matthews) Sturtevant. She was raised and educated in Pulaski, NY, graduating from Pulaski Academy and Central School in 1951. She was a member of the CNY Antique Tractor Club, Inc. in Canastota. On July 28, 1952, in the First United Methodist Church in North Bangor, NY she was wed to Clarence E. Cobb, the couple shared in a union that was blessed with over seventy years of marriage. At one time she held positions with Warner Brothers, Altman & Green Jewelers, the Franklin County Welfare Department, and the Franklin County Treasurer's Department in Malone, NY. Mrs. Cobb retired from Agway in Dewitt, NY where she held a position as an Executive Secretary, retiring in 1998 after more than 33 years of service. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; a daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Brian Young Cazenovia, NY; grandchildren, Kavanah and Ivy Young, Grace Young, and Declan Young; three sisters, Thelma Davis, Shirley Wood, and Gloria Nellenbeck. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Charlie Davis, and Ed Seymour. She was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Sturtevant; and three sisters, Charlotte Seymour, Ramona Jordan, and Chloe Davis. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota, NY. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Dr. Rev. John Fulton, Pastor of the Chittenango United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Hospice & Pallative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, or to Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
