Obituary of Antoinette E. Fiume

CANASTOTA . . . Antoinette E. "Andy" Fiume, 97, of 6967 Bruce Road, Canastota, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on Monday, November 7, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born on June 5, 1925, in Canastota, the daughter of the late Antonio and Benadetta "Bessie" (Cesario) Eppolito. Andy lived in Canastota all of her life, attending the Canastota school. She grew up working on the family muck farm, and later worked at Oneida Limited in Sherrill for several years prior to staying home to care for her family. Andy enjoyed knitting, making meatballs, watching The Price is Right, Family Feud, The Young and the Restless, and loved spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor and could always find something to laugh about. She was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota. Andy married Lawrence P. "Larry" Fiume on August 11, 1956, in Canastota. Larry passed away on March 28, 1993. Surviving are: one daughter and son-in-law, Benita Kay and Michael Connell of Canastota; one daughter-in-law, Stephenie Hazelwood of Camden; three grandchildren, Vanessa Kay and Christopher Bryson of Syracuse, Brooke and Margaret Connell of Syracuse, and Lawrence J. Fiume, Jr. of Camden; one great grandchild, Aidan Bryson; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Andy was predeceased by a son, Lawrence J. "Larry" Fiume, Sr. At Andy's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Private Interment will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
