EAST SYRACUSE . . .
Maurice "Tuddy" Tridente, Jr., 95, of East Syracuse, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on August 12, 1927, in Manlius, the son of the late Maurice Sr. and Bernice (Phelps) Tridente.
Tuddy spent his early years in Manlius, receiving his diploma later in life after enlisting in the military at 17 years old. He has lived in East Syracuse for many years.
He is a World War II Veteran, serving overseas in the United States Navy.
Tuddy worked in the HVAC and plumbing trades, working as a manager at Morgan Badgley, Inc., in Manlius, retiring after many years there.
He enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, spending winters in Tampa, FL, and spending time with his family.
Tuddy was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse
He married his childhood sweetheart, Marie P. Rathburn on June 28, 1947, in St. Ann's Church in Manlius. Marie passed away on October 7, 2013.
Surviving are: one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ronald Relyea of E. Syracuse; one daughter-in-law, Robin Tridente of Lutz, FL; four grandchildren, Christine Tridente, Thomas and Tiffany Vaughan, Rachel Sweatt, and Christina and Lawrence Sabia; nine great grandchildren, Hope, Thomas Vaughan, Robert Vaughan, Laci Rittinger, Timothy Wilson, Jr., Derek Wilson, Connor Christianson, Juliana Sabia, and Daniel Sabia; two sisters, Evelyn Pauline "Poy" and Harry Cole of Chittenango, and Delores "Dee Dee" Radell of Cicero; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tuddy was predeceased by one son, Edward Tridente; one brother, Bartholomew "Bart" Tridente; and one sister, Lillian "Lil" Thompson.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at St. Matthew's Church, 229 W. Yates Street, East Syracuse. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
In his memory, contributions may be made to the CNY SPCA, 5878 E. Molloy Road, Syracuse, NY 13211, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
