SYLVAN BEACH . . .


Richard R. "Rich" Rapasadi, 62, of 2213 Pleasant Avenue, Blossvale, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2022, following a brief illness.


He was born on July 18, 1960, in Canastota, the son of the late James Sr. and Hazel (Hamilton) Rapasadi.


Rich spent his early years in Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1978, and has lived in Sylvan Beach for the last 20 years.


He worked for Diemolding Corporation in Canastota for many years, and later worked for Cathedral Corporation in Rome for several years.


Rich enjoyed music, watching football with his grandsons, and spending time with his family.


He was of the Catholic faith.


Rich married Irene E. Cronizer on July 19, 2008, in Sherrill.


Surviving besides his wife, Irene, are: two grandchildren, Thomas and Ayden Griner at home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shelby and Ernie Kiehn of Weirsdale, FL, and Ashley Griner of Rome; one sister, Patricia Pluff of Canastota; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James, Jr. and Amy Rapasadi of Sherrill, Scott and Grace Rapasadi of Canastota, and John and Susan Rapasadi of Liverpool; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Jennifer Rapasadi of Canastota.


At Rich's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.


In his memory, contributions may be made to American Legion Post #1153, 703 Clifford Avenue, Sylvan Beach, NY 13157.
