VERNON . . .

Curt C. "Bear" Fort, 51, of 4768 State Route 26, Lot 219, Vernon, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, Utica, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on September 21, 1971, in Oneida, the son of Walter and Joyce (Poppleton) Fort.

Curt spent her early years in Oneida and Munnsville, graduating from the Stockbridge Valley High School in 1989. He has lived in Vernon for several years.

He has worked at Oneida Limited in Sherrill for many years, later working at the Munnsville Schools, and Community Bank in Vernon.

Curt enjoyed watching television, making movies, mowing his lawn, Sunday dinners at his mother's house, and spending time with his family.

He married Andora L. "Annie" Hartle on September 27, 2003, in Munnsville. Annie passed away on March 2, 2018.

Surviving are: his mother, Joyce Fort of Munnsville; his father, Walter Fort of Durhamville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David and Debra Hammitt of Gurnee, IL, and Steven Craft of PA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Curt's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
