Obituary of Linda Jean Lake

CANASTOTA . . . Linda Jean Lake, 76, of 7680 Roberts Street, Canastota, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, following a sudden illness. She was born on November 6, 1946, in Oneida, the daughter of the late Raymond Webb and Audrey (Proper) Webb Tarnow. Linda was a lifelong resident of Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1964. She and her husband, Doug, enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. She worked as the office manager for dentists, Dr. Charles "Chic" Tornatore, and later Dr. Anthony "Ziff" Farfaglia, in Canastota, for 30 years, retiring in 2012. Linda enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, playing golf, spending time with her grandchildren, shopping with her daughter, Susan, lunches with her girlfriends, and her dog, Molly. She married William D. "Doug" Lake on May 20, 1967, in Canastota. Surviving besides her husband, Doug, are; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and Ronald Siedsma of Canastota; one brother, James Webb of Virginia; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Janet Currieri of California, and Jane and Richard Slaski of Canastota; four grandchildren, Amanda Siedsma, Teddy Siedsma, Rachel Siedsma, and Brandon Siedsma; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Linda was predeceased by one brother, Jack Webb. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Memorial services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Anthony F. Tosti will officiate.
