CANASTOTA . . .
Dario A. Damore, Jr., 55, of 423 Denwhit Terrace, Canastota, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 7, 1967, in Oneida, the son of the late Dario, Sr. and Judith (Capparelli) Damore.
Dario lived in Canastota all his life, and attended the Canastota schools.
He worked as a service technician for Servomation Refreshments, Inc. in Canastota for many years, retiring in 2020, due to his health. He also worked at Basilio's Sausage Stand at the New York State Fair for almost forty years.
Dario gave back to his community, as a member, Vice-President, President, and EMT for the Greater Lenox Ambulance Service, Inc. in Canastota for thirty-nine years, and was also a member and past Captain of the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department for thirty-seven years.
He enjoyed watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees, fishing, as well as spending time with his much loved family.
Dario was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Canastota.
He married Kimberly A. Palamara on May 19, 2007, in Canastota.
Surviving besides his wife, Kim, are: one daughter, Nina M. Damore; one son, Dario A. "Tre" Damore, III; one sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and James Hertel of Rome; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Anthony and Terri Damore of St. Petersburg, FL, and Robert Damore of Mechanicville; as well as two nephews, aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
In his memory, contributions may be made to the Canastota Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 81, Canastota, NY 13032, or Greater Lenox Ambulance Service (GLAS), PO Box 382, Canastota, NY 13032, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
