CANASTOTA . . .



Arlene L. "Red" Compoli, 96, of Canastota, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Oneida Health Care, ECF, after a three month period of care. The family would like to thank all the staff at "OHC" for the compassionate and exceptional care she received.



She was born on July 8, 1926, in State Bridge, NY, a daughter of the late Willard and Neva (Butler) Tefft.



Red spent her early years in Oneida, attending Oneida schools and in 1946 she relocated to Canastota.



She worked at Oneida Limited in Sherrill for over 32 years, retiring in 1988.



Red attended St. Agatha's Church in Canastota and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Oneida.



She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, crocheting, working in her yard, and spending time with her family and friends.



Red married Joseph J. Compoli, Sr., on June 9, 1946, in Canastota, NY. Joe passed away on December 7, 1992.



Surviving are: one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sara Compoli of Schenectady; a son-in-law, Clayton "Butch" Kimball of New Smyrna Beach, Fl; a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Carol Tefft of New Hartford; three grandchildren, Eric and Amy Kimball, Andrea Kimball, and Mary and Michael Duda; three great grandchildren, Mycale, Janelle, and Kennedy Kimball; two step-greatgrandchildren, Matthew Harp, and Analyse Renfer; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Red was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Kimball; her grandson, Michael Kimball, and two sisters, Sharon Tefft, and Eva Jane Ransier.



Calling hours will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.



In her memory, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 42040, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
