Obituary of Winifred D. "Red" Patrick

MORRISVILLE . . . Winifred D. "Red" Patrick, 86, of 5504 Northrup Road, Morrisville, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 9, 1936, in Chittenango, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Winona (Hannan) Relyea. Red spent her early years in Canastota, graduating from Canastota High School in 1954. She worked for Owl Wire & Cable Company in Canastota for 20 years, retiring in 2001. Red enjoyed camping, music boxes, hummingbirds, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She married Lawrence H. Patrick on March 2, 1974, in Sylvan Beach. Surviving besides her husband, Larry, are: one son, Timothy Relyea of Canastota; five grandchildren, Kristy Relyea of Liverpool, Jennifer Hampton of Liverpool, Hadlen Wallis of Florida, Kelly Relyea of Blossvale, and Alicia McManus of Chittenango; ten great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Grace Patrick, Peggy Relyea, and Ellen Patrick; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dogs, Merle and Fiesty. Red was predeceased by one son, John F. Relyea; and one brother, Ernie Relyea. Special thanks to Tammy, Chris, and Sarah for all the care they had given her. At Red's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory, contributions may be made to Wanderers' Rest Humane Association, Inc., PO Box 535, Canastota, NY 13032.
