CANASTOTA . . .

Lester H. Relyea, Jr., 70, formerly of Canastota, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, PA, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 25, 1952, in Denton, TX, the son of the late Lester Sr. and Elizabeth (Rudolph) Relyea.

Lester lived in Canastota most of his life, attending the Canastota schools. He later lived in Texas, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy.

Lester retired from General Electric in Syracuse, where he worked for many years.

He enjoyed bowling, helping others, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are: one son, Lester H. Relyea, III; one brother, James Relyea of Mattydale; two sisters, Darlene Babcock, and Debra and Angelo Salamino, Jr., all of Oneida; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Lester's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Lenox Rural Cemetery, Canastota. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
