Obituary of Ole Steen Pedersen

Ole Steen Pedersen of Canastota, New York passed away peacefully in Syracuse, New York on August 8, 2023. Despite recently celebrating a brief remission from cancer. He lost his battle after a long and valiant fight. The Pedersen family was originally from Denmark. As a child Ole Steen's family moved to Canada, then settled in Sherrill, New York when his father joined Oneida Ltd. Ole Steen was a proud American, but always carried his Danish heritage close to his heart. He had a gregarious personality and pursued his hobbies with passion. He was true to himself until the very end. Ole Steen graduated from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School and Morrisville College with honors. He worked as a certified Master Automobile Technician with a great love of Saab Design, collecting and refurbishing vintage models and memorabilia throughout his life. Ole Steen was preceded in death by his parents, Albin Pedersen and Helga [Madsen] Pedersen (Sherrill, NY) and brother, Erik Pedersen (Spring Grove, IL). He is survived by his two loving nieces, Kirsten Whalen-Pedersen (Cambridge, MA) and Emily Whalen-Pedersen (Chicago, IL), as well as many extended family members throughout Canada and Denmark and his beloved neighbors, Wes and Linda. Ole Steen received many visits, calls, and texts from family and friends in his final days. All of which brought him comfort, laughter, and peace.
