HAMILTON . . .
Our loving son and brother, Brendon John Meeks, 33, formerly of Hamilton, passed unexpectedly from this life and into our Father's loving embrace on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at his home in Albany.
He was born on October 1, 1990, in Syracuse, the eldest son of Raymond and Ellen (Hesler) Meeks.
Brendon grew up in Hamilton, graduating from Hamilton Central School in 2009, where he co-captained his high school soccer team to the 2008 New York State Championship. He later graduated with honors from the Modern Welding School in Schenectady and worked for both Harrison & Burrowes, and Piasecki Steel in bridge construction. Brendon, also, attended Hudson Valley Community College's HVAC program, and worked for Comfort Systems, Inc. of Syracuse. Most recently he worked for Colonie Management, LLC at the Colonie Center Mall as a Maintenance Technician. He has lived in the Albany area for the last several years.
Brendon attended the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany.
He enjoyed family reunions, camping trips particularly to the 1000 Islands, and family ski trips to Vermont. Brendon especially loved playing cards and board games with his brothers and cousins after a day outdoors, hiking, fishing, or skiing.
Surviving besides his parents, Dr. Raymond and Ellen Meeks of Manchester Center, VT, are: two brothers and a sister-in-law, Daniel and Alexandra Alam El Din-Meeks of Troy, NY, and Brian Meeks of NYC; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Brendon is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Jane Hesler; paternal grandparents, Barbara and John Meeks; and an uncle, Charles Hesler.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. The Rev. Christopher J. Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Canastota.
