CANASTOTA . . . Nancy A. Mills, 72, of 400 Lamb Avenue, Canastota, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 26, 1951, in Rome, NY, the daughter of the late Martin Tedford, Sr. and Anne (Palmiter) Tedford. Nancy spent her early years in Camden, attending the Camden schools. She has lived in Oneida and Canastota for many years. She was a home health aide for many years. Nancy was an active supporter of charitable organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Fr. Flanagan's Boys Town, Law Enforcement, as well as many others. She enjoyed dancing, playing games on the computer, card games, bingo, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her five children, Michael Felker of Oneida, Beatrice Fivecoat of Oneida, Crystal Mills of Syracuse, Cindy and James VanVorst of Oneida, and Teresa and Justin Lockhart of Newport, IN; two brothers, Martin Jr. "Butch" and Jessie Tedford of Blossvale, and Matthew and Linda Tedford of Blossvale; one sister, Kimberly Campolo of Watertown; two brothers-in-law, Michael Leonard of Sun City, CA, and Ronald Smith of Tennessee; one sister-in-law, Diane Campolo; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy was predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Leonard, Patricia Spaulding, and Linda Smith. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In her memory, contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
