Patricia H. Fleming, 81, of Vernon Center, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at her home with her family at her side.

She was born on September 29, 1942, in Oneida, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest K. and Genevieve (Stewart) Haslauer.

Patricia was raised and educated in local schools and graduated from Stockbridge Valley Central School in 1960. On May 22, 1971, at St. Therese Church in Munnsville, NY she married W. Joseph Fleming. Mr. Fleming passed away on January 1, 1998, after over twenty-six years of marriage.

At one time she held positions as a secretary for Stockbridge Valley Central School, and was a Transcriber for the New York State Police, Troop D, BCI Division. Mrs. Fleming also volunteered as a secretary for St. Therese Church in Munnsville, and held a position as the secretary for the grievance board in the town of Augusta, she was a substitute aide at Madison Central School; and lastly, she was the owner and operator along with her son of their family farm in Vernon Center for many years.

Patricia enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and baking; and was a talented cake decorator.

Surviving is a daughter, Cheryl A. Fleming; a son and daughter-in-law, Craig J. and Kay Dee Fleming all of Vernon Center; and three grandchildren, Emily and Robert Cota of Verona, Braxton Fleming, and Grace Fleming both of Vernon Center. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Haslauer.

In keeping with Patricia’s wishes there will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Church, 229 Main Street, Oriskany Falls, NY. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Oneida, NY.
