Obituary of John E. "Jack" (Tyminski) Miller

CANASTOTA . . . John E. "Jack" (Tyminski) Miller, 86, of 6084 Oxbow Road, Canastota, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville, following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 26, 1937, in Syracuse, the son of the late John and Nellie (Scheele) Tyminski. Jack spent his early years in East Syracuse, graduating from the Syracuse City Schools, and later attended Syracuse University. He worked for General Electric in Syracuse, was the Head Custodian at the Morrisville Central School, and owned and operated a farm and fish store, Empire Aquatics. Jack was a member of the New York State Rabbit Breeders Association, and the Central New York Aquarium Society. He enjoyed model trains, raising and showing rabbits, raising fish, farming, and spending time with his family and friends. Jack married Florence L. White on June 2, 1962, in Clockville. Florence passed away on January 1, 2015. Surviving are: one son, Adam Miller and Patience Seitz of Canastota; two daughters and sons-in-law, Crystal and Lenny Farrar, and Shelly and Robert Holdridge, all of Canastota; one brother, Robin Miller of Auburn; one sister, Pearl "Dee" Gardinier of Canastota; one brother-in-law, Robert Inglis of PA; five grandchildren, Randi-Jo Holdridge; Jordan and Allison Farrar, Joshua Farrar; Bric Miller, Cade Miller, and their mother Daria Miller; and Eric Holdridge and Andrea Kinney; two great grandchildren, Zackary Labarbera, and Aliceanda Farrar; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was predeceased by a daughter, Stephanie Miller; one brother, Wells Miller; and one sister, Martha Inglis. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Clockville United Methodist Church, Clockville. The Rev. William M. Wilcox will officiate. The family will greet friends at the church, prior to the service, from 4 to 6 p.m. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department, 4581 Peterboro Road, Peterboro, NY 13134, or to SEVAC, PO Box 1030, Cedar Street, Morrisville, NY 13408, with envelopes available at the church.
