WAMPSVILLE . . . Patricia E. "Patty" Walsh, age 89, of Wampsville, NY, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility. Patty was born and raised in North Syracuse, prior to moving to the Wampsville IRA, where she spent most of her life. She worked for Alternative Industries, a division of The ARC Madison Cortland, for 30 years. Upon retirement, she participated in the ARC Seniors program. During her years at the Wampsville IRA, Patty made several friends, and participated in countless group activities and field trips. She enjoyed scrapbooking, and took pride in her vast collection of teddy bears. She was known for her sense of humor, and always being fashionably dressed. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, James Leo Walsh and Winifred (Quirk) Walsh; two brothers, Thomas Walsh, and Leo Nicholas Walsh; and a sister, Margaret Walsh. A calling hour will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Agatha's Church, 329 N. Peterboro Street, Canastota. A funeral mass will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Christopher Ballard, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota, NY. In her memory, donations may be made to The ARC Madison Cortland, 701 Lenox Ave, Oneida, NY 13421, with envelopes available at the church.
