Jane A. Whipple, 57, of 5460 Bellinger Road, Cazenovia, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Oneida Health, following a courageous battle with cancer.



She was born on October 13, 1966, in Canastota, the daughter of James and Mary (Murphy) Berry.



Jane spent her early years in Clockville, and lived in Oneida where she graduated from Oneida High School in 1985. She later graduated from the Madison-Oneida BOCES Nursing Program.



She has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 13 years, working at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing in Chittenango and Rome.




Jane loved her work, spending time with her family, and traveling to N. Carolina to see her son and his children.



Surviving besides her long-time companion, James E. Jones, Jr., are: one son and daughter-in-law, James and Caitlin Whipple of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter, Melissa Whipple of Canastota; her mother, Mary Phillips of Oneida; her step-mother, Susan Buss of Oneida; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Mark and Andrea Buss of Oneida, and Christopher "Mike" Buss of Oneida; five grandchildren, Avery Whipple, Braden McMahon, Scott Winchell III, Jacob Winchell, and Destiny Whipple; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jane was predeceased by her father, James Berry; two stepfathers, Richard Phillips, Jr., and Bruce Buss; and one granddaughter, Autumn Winchell.



At Jane's request there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are under the supervision of the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., 201 James Street, Canastota.
